Why organizations need a Cybersecurity Readiness Assessment

  • Identify Vulnerabilities

Pinpoint system vulnerabilities to reduce cyber risk. Attacks target all sectors – small businesses (43%), large enterprises (50%) and the public sector (7%).

  • Minimize Financial Loss

The average cost of a cyber breach is $4.88 million globally. Additional fines, lawsuits, and reputational damage can significantly increase total losses.
  • Ensure Compliance

Many industries have strict data protection regulations. A readiness assessment can help ensure compliance and avoid costly penalties (up to 4% of global revenue under GDPR).

  • Strengthen Incident Response

A thorough assessment improves incident response capabilities, resulting in reduced downtime. Companies with an incident response plan face 70% lower data breach costs than those without one.

  • Protect Reputation

Cyberattacks can severely damage customer trust. 60% of small businesses shut down within six months of a cyberattack due to lost reputation and financial strain.

  • Prioritize Investments

A readiness assessment helps allocate cybersecurity budgets effectively, ensuring that resources are spent on critical areas that enhance security and prevent breaches before they happen.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to complete a Cybersecurity Readiness Assessment?

The entire service is typically completed within two weeks. One variable is the availability of personnel needed to complete the questionnaire because it covers different areas of data management. The Vulnerability Assessment portion can be completed in 24 to 48 hours. The Cyber Level Assessment Report takes a couple of additional days to complete. The last piece is scheduling the Cyber Level Assessment Analysis with all necessary team members.

What does the Cybersecurity Readiness Assessment cover?

The assessment is comprehensive. It covers many areas, including firewalls, antivirus software, data backup practices, email infrastructure, password management, phishing prevention, email spoofing, Wi-Fi, permissions, configuration management, inventory/patching, mobile devices, USB security, and advanced testing practices .

How often should we do a Cybersecurity Readiness Assessment?

This level of assessment should be done at least once – especially if it’s never been done before. After the first Cybersecurity Readiness Assessment, most organizations are able to firm up their cyber programs and move on to other more advanced services. It is beneficial to perform the assessment again if there are major infrastructure, operational, or policy changes.

Will the assessment impact my production network and systems?

The Vulnerability Assessment portion of the service involves scanning the network. It is moderately invasive, but should not have a noticeable impact on the production environment.

What are the expected outcomes?

The Cybersecurity Readiness Assessment provides risk analysis, recommendations for strengthening defenses, a roadmap for addressing vulnerabilities, and insights to help allocate budget and resources to improve cyber resilience.
